Somehow we are into October and our conference and exhibition in Cardiff next month seems very, very close.
So if you have been thinking about signing up but haven’t quite got round to it yet, here’s a gentle reminder that time is running out. It’s on 2 and 3 November at the Holland House Hotel in Cardiff. Listen and debate with your HR leaders - Danny Mortimer, Michael West and Stephen Moir; quite simply it's two days on good people management in a challenging environment. We want to support you, our members, who ensure the sustainability and performance of healthcare organisations to improve patient outcomes and experience.
Talking to some of our more long-standing members recently, I was reminded of the sheer scale and energy of the HPMA conferences in years gone by when hundreds of members gathered in various venues throughout the UK for a three-day residential event. Our event sadly declined as the official Department of Health HR in the NHS took centre stage. But that is no more and there is a real gap to be filled – bringing the whole HR community in healthcare together to discuss the crucial issues facing us all and to be inspired to tackle the challenges ahead.
Our Welsh branch has always been one of our most active so it’s fitting that the first of our comeback conferences is being held in Cardiff. Our members in Wales will be there in force but we want to see a great showing from all corners of the UK to demonstrate our reach across the four countries.
We have put together a strong programme with plenty of scope for you to plan your own ‘journey’ according to your development needs. And in true HPMA tradition, there’s a good night out planned for you to relax and meet new people.
We want to welcome as many HPMA members as possible to join us in Cardiff. I look forwarded to seeing you and your team in November for an inspiring, challenging, fun and fully interactive conference and exhibition for the whole HR healthcare community.
